Poetic Drama By E. Thomalen
This volume includes 3 plays by E. Thomalen adapted as Librettos. There are notes preceding each work that provides a view into the work. While they are in a theatre format and have a verse structure, they are nevertheless in three distinctly different genres. The Metamorphosis is based on the absurdist Kafka novella and is a play within a play. Dances of Life - and Death is in a romantic style and The Platform is an expressionistic work. Each genre is usually associated with a different musical treatment.
